Private and Public Applications

Flowlu supports two types of custom applications: private and public. These application types differ in visibility, distribution, and moderation requirements.

Private applications (Local)

Private applications are intended for internal use or distribution to a limited number of Flowlu accounts.

Key characteristics:

  • Private applications are not listed in the Flowlu Marketplace.

  • They are installed directly into specific Flowlu accounts.

  • Moderation is not required for private applications.

  • Private applications currently have a single active version.

Private applications are suitable for:

  • internal tools,

  • customer-specific integrations,

  • experimental or early-stage applications.

Public applications

Public applications are listed in the Flowlu Marketplace and available to other Flowlu customers.

Key characteristics:

  • Public applications must pass moderation before publication.

  • Each new application version requires moderation.

  • Moderation includes verification of:

    • declared functionality,

    • application operability,

    • security considerations,

    • requested permissions and scopes.

Updates and moderation

Not all changes require moderation.

The following changes do not require re-moderation:

  • application description text,

  • support information,

  • banners and promotional content,

  • logos and visual assets.

The following changes do require moderation:

  • publishing a new application version,

  • changes affecting functionality,

  • changes to requested permissions or scopes.

Visibility and access control

For both private and public applications:

  • installation and removal are performed by portal administrators,

  • administrators can assign application access to specific user roles or groups.
