Attaching Files from Google Drive, OneDrive & Dropbox
Flowlu's integration with Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox allows you to attach files from your cloud storage accounts directly to tasks, projects, and other items. Instead of uploading a copy, Flowlu creates a link to the original file, which helps you save storage space on your portal.

Key Advantages
- Portal Storage Optimization: Files are not physically uploaded to the Flowlu server, which helps preserve your portal's disk space.
- Direct File Access: Clicking the link in Flowlu opens the file directly from your cloud storage.
- Centralized File Management: The file is managed and updated in your cloud storage, ensuring the link in Flowlu always points to the most current version.
How to Attach a File from Cloud Storage
The process is initiated the first time you attach a file from a cloud service and is similar for Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive.
- In any Flowlu item that supports attachments (like a task or project), navigate to the Files section and click the Attach Files button.
- An overlay window will appear with import options. Select the cloud service you want to use, for example, Google Drive.
- If you are connecting your account for the first time, you will be prompted to authenticate. Click the Connect to Google Drive button to proceed.
- A
new "Choose an account" window will open. Select the Google account you
wish to link with Flowlu and grant the necessary permissions to
continue.
- After successfully authenticating, your cloud storage file browser will open. Browse and select the file(s) you wish to attach.
- You
will be taken to a confirmation screen that lists your selected
file(s). The file will be marked with the cloud storage icon. You can
click Add more to select additional files or click Upload file to finalize the attachment.
- The file is now successfully attached to your Flowlu item. It will be displayed in the Files list with the corresponding cloud storage icon, indicating it is a linked file and not stored on the Flowlu portal.
