Flowlu Marketplace is Open for Developers

Flowlu Marketplace is Open for Developers
Build an app on top of Flowlu, publish it to teams who run their business on the platform, and get in while the catalog is still open.

If you build software, you can now create apps that embed directly into a user's Flowlu Portal. The Marketplace is brand new. The categories are open and the early spots are there for the taking.

Here's what you can build, why now is the moment, and how to get listed.

What you can build

A Marketplace app is a mini-application that runs inside a user's Portal. You build it with Flowlu's JS SDK and REST API, and it accesses Portal data through OAuth 2.0, only within the permissions a user grants when they install it.

Build your app as a frontend module embedded at Flowlu's integration points, or run your own backend as an external service and integrate it through an iframe and the API, so your existing stack works as-is.

You can add an item to the main menu, a tab on a CRM opportunity or a task, a widget on the dashboard, a custom report type, or a full telephony or communications integration. See Supported Integration Points for more.

Apps run sandboxed and isolated from the core, so a failure in your app never affects the rest of the Portal.

If you've built a web app before, the building blocks are familiar. The developer documentation covers the architecture, the JS SDK, the manifest, the supported integration points, and the full development workflow.

Why build now

The catalog is brand new

Most app marketplaces are crowded. The Flowlu Marketplace just opened.

The first solid app in telephony, in reporting, in an industry-specific workflow, or whatever you build best, has a real chance to become the one teams reach for. Getting in early is its own advantage.

Publishing is free

There's no fee to publish an app. You build it, you list it, and you keep the relationship with your users. If your app is paid, you handle pricing, billing, and support directly, and Flowlu isn't a party to that transaction today.

We reserve the right to introduce a monetization model later, and if we ever do, every developer gets at least 30 days' notice before it takes effect.

Your audience is already here

The people browsing the Marketplace are existing Flowlu users looking to extend what they already use. You're not converting cold traffic or building for a hypothetical audience. You're reaching teams who have already chosen the platform your app runs on.

How to get listed on Flowlu Marketplace

There are two stages, each with its own review, and each review can take up to 14 business days.

Step 1. Register as a public developer

A Portal administrator submits a registration application from the Developer Console, including your legal details and a short description of the apps you plan to publish.

We review it within 14 business days. If we need more information, the review can extend by up to another 14.

Step 2. Build and submit your app

Develop the app, complete your listing, and submit it for review.

Within 14 business days you get one of three answers: Publish, and your app goes live; Revise, where we tell you specifically what to correct; or Reject, if it doesn't meet the requirements.

Requirements to know

Only a Portal administrator can register

Developer registration is tied to an admin acting on behalf of their organization, and each Portal can register as one developer.

English required, Portuguese and Spanish recommended

All listing text must be in English. Flowlu serves teams across Portuguese and Spanish too, so adding those translations is how your app reaches every user who could install it, not just some of them.

Listing standards are specific

App names run up to 60 characters, short descriptions up to 160, full descriptions at least 200, with real screenshots of the actual interface at a minimum width of 1280 pixels. The full list is in the requirements.

The rules your app has to meet

Technical detail on the JS SDK, REST API, submission, and supported integration points lives in the developer documentation, which covers everything from architecture to building telephony and communications modules.

A note for Portal admins

If you administer a Flowlu Portal but don't build software yourself, the Marketplace still matters to you. Developer registration runs through an admin account, so you're the one who would approve or initiate building an internal app for your own team, and you'll be the one installing apps as the catalog grows.

The rules that keep the Marketplace secure

A Marketplace is only worth building on if both developers and users can rely on it. The requirements are built around a few principles:

Every app is reviewed

Nothing reaches the Marketplace without passing review against the published requirements. If an app violates them after publication, Flowlu can remove it.

You own your app

Each developer is responsible for their app's operation, security, support, and privacy policy, and processes user data as an independent controller under the applicable law of the user's country.

Apps request only what they need

An app can only request the OAuth permissions its declared functionality actually needs. Requesting access speculatively isn't allowed, and users see the full permission list before they install.

Clear data rules

Apps access Portal data only through granted OAuth permissions. When a user uninstalls an app, the developer deletes that user's associated data within the timeframe set in their privacy policy. Any security incident involving user data has to be reported to Flowlu within two business days.

Start building

The Marketplace is open, and the empty categories are the opportunity. Head to the Developer Console to register, read the developer documentation to see how apps are built, and check the App Requirements and Developer Terms before you submit.

This is the beginning of the Flowlu ecosystem, and it's being shaped now.
